Atlanta Streets Alive Recap

Did you join us on Sunday, September 27, during Atlanta Streets Alive? A program inspired
by open streets projects worldwide, Atlanta Streets Alive opens streets to people by
temporarily closing them to cars. The afternoon event encourages locals to explore their city
and neighborhoods by foot, trading their cars for bicycles and feet – providing a safe
environment for Atlantans to explore in a healthier, more livable, active way.

North Highland Avenue was one of four streets closed from 2 to 6 p.m. and while Atlanta
Streets Alive featured a bicycle parade and many events along the route, we know the real
fun was a Sweet Auburn!

Not only did we have food and drink specials including boiled peanuts, housemade pork
rinds, barbecue sandwiches, housemade Rice Krispie treats and spiked lemonade, but we
also had a dunk tank and petting zoo! Executive chef Joey Stallings debuted our new
smoker which is now at home in the Sweet Auburn kitchen.

Check out some photos from the fun below!
